She was born in 1930 in Two Harbors, Minnesota but lived most of her life in Huntsville, Alabama and Winchester, Tennessee, with her beloved husband in their lakeside retirement home. JoAnn worked in the jewelry business and specialty toy stores for many years and also was a stay-at-home mom for her two sons.
JoAnn loved going to Orange Beach Alabama and spent ten winters at the beach celebrating Christmas, New Years and Mardi Gras with family, friends and other snowbirds. Some of them included; homemade Root Beer Floats, watching MSNBC and discussing crazy political controversy, playing games on her iPad/Computer, kitchen flour fights with the granddaughters, shopping for special gifts for family (she was the best gift giver) and buying toys and outfits for her loving great-grandkids. Perhaps one of her most loved passions was collecting Dickens Village Memorabilia, she accumulated over 1000 pieces and proudly displayed them in a custom built shelving unit that her husband Don built.
