Robert John Morse, Sr. left us and his beloved family on December 26, 2017. Bob was born in Kent, Ohio in 1934. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1959, transferring to the U.S. Army Corps (Reserve) Redstone Arsenal, Alabama until 1964. Bob married Gwendolyn Joy Humphrey and together they have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Prior to joining the Army, he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Bob served as a mechanical engineer, supporting projects for Apollo Missions, Skylab, Hubble Space Telescope, and the Space Station. Bob retired from civil service with NASA. Bob shared his love for animals with Joy. Together, they rescued many animals during their marriage. Bob was also an avid gardener. His solace was spending hours tending to his yard. He was a man of principle and instilled in his children the meaning of hard work and perseverance. He loved his family and enjoyed any occasion for family and extended family to get together. Bob was preceded in death by his parents George Leslie and Della Mae Morse, and his wife Gwendolyn Joy Morse. Bob leaves to cherish his memory: Children, Kevin (Kim) Morse, Robert, Jr. (Marva) Morse, Elizabeth (Dr. Michael) Simpson and Catherine Morse; grandchildren; Jeremy Morse, Chrislyn Morse and fiancé Tim Taylor, Jonathan Morse, Laura Joy Simpson and Austin Morse.
