Thomas Woods Wade, 81, of Madison, Alabama, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his home. Thomas was born March 4, 1936 in Henry County, Alabama to Otis Wade and Lois Wade. He faithfully served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3). Following his military service, he continued to serve as a Department of Army Civilian for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Integrated Materiel Management Center (IMMC) Readiness Directorate supporting the Hawk Missile weapon system. He retired from AMCOM after 20 years of service. Thomas is survived by his wife, Hong Wade of Madison, AL; his daughters, Tina Chen of Madison, AL, Jeni Zimmerman and her husband Michael Zimmerman of Madison, AL, and Patti Wade of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren, Kayla Chen, Andrew Chen, Ava Zimmerman, Emery Zimmerman, Isabella Alvarez, Aaron Zint, Sam Zint, Hannah Zint, and Alex Flanders; his niece Tami Hall and her husband Michael Hall of Marianna, FL, and his nephew Johnny “Buddy” Wade and his wife Loretta Wade of Dothan, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Lois, and his daughters Rosie Flanders and Jennifer Wade.
