Sara Elizabeth Cook, age 32 of Madison, AL, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved daughter of Clariss M. (Bubba) Cook, Jr. and Teresa Cook, a dear friend to anyone who met her, and a respected coworker to her work family at Synectic Research and Analysis (SRA). Sara was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her friends. Over the years, she collected a large library of board games and comics. Her love for Captain America and the Winter Soldier helped her to push through the tougher times and inspired a joy for comics that she shared with others she met. She was also very passionate about cosplay and looked forward to attending Dragon Con each year. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping on Amazon, watching Marvel movies, and listening to One Direction music. Sara is survived by her parents, Bubba and Teresa Cook of Madison, AL, her aunt, Mrs. Anita C. Hamlett of Lacey, WA, and many cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John M. Ryan and Henrietta L. Ryan, and her paternal grandparents, Clariss M. and Mary Alice Cook. A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 1:00-1:30P.M. at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, followed by a Tribute Service for Sara, at 1:30P.M. A second, informal cosplay event, celebrating Sara's life, will be held at 5:00P.M. at the Optics Building at UAHuntsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Huntsville Hospital and/or Hospice Family Care (HFC) through the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. http://www.hospicefamilycare.org/donate.aspx http://www.huntsvillehospitalfoundation.org/ways-to-give/giving-options/
