Born to Vanilla J. Simmons and Connie Lee Witcher, Dec. 12, 1969. Patrice couldn’t wait to get into the world, almost born in the hospital elevator. As a child Tricey, is what we called her, was a very happy child. She loved playing, sometimes by herself. She loved fighting for others. After her children were born, she decided to become a teacher’s aide. After the school closed, still loving children, she started working in a day care and later became part owner and Director of a day care center. She even went back to school, getting her associates degree in child development, and teaching. When things turned around she moved to Alabama where she started attending church, The We have Hope Center, accepting God into her life. She always made time to drive her family around, wherever they needed to go. She strayed as many of us do; but decided to give her life back to God before she became very ill. Tricey leaves to celebrate her life, her mother, Vanilla Simmons; stepdad, Bobby Simmons; husband Andre Johnson; daughter, Jacqueline Johnson; son, Andre Johnson Jr.; son, Patrick (Tonisha) Johnson, sisters, Eslena (Thaddeus) McFarland, Anjanine Witcher, Aniyah Jones, Annaniah Jones; brothers, Robert (Katherine) Lynch, Christopher Jones; 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, great uncles, great aunts, cousins, and friends.
