Gwendolyn (Joy) Morse

Gwendolyn Joy Humphrey Morse left us and her beloved family on August 2, 2017. Joy was born in Lexington, Kentucky in 1936. She served in the United States Air Force as a flight attendant from 1955-1957. After relocating to Huntsville, Alabama, she married Robert Morse and together they have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology in 1984. She served as a counselor in the private sector and as a civil servant for many years. Joy was an avid reader and enjoyed many other hobbies such as cooking, painting, antiquing, flowers, gardening and doll making. She loved and was loved by everyone. She had a true gift of connecting with people through kindness and understanding and always wanted to leave people with a positive thought. She was very adventurous and enjoyed trying new things. She instilled in her children to try new adventures and always enjoy life. Joy was preceded in death by her parents; Grover Cleveland Humphrey, Opal Humphrey Shields and James M. Shields. Joy leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Robert John Morse, Sr.; Children, Kevin (Kim) Morse, Robert, Jr. (Marva) Morse, Elizabeth (Dr. Michael) Simpson and Catherine Morse; grandchildren; Jeremy Morse, Chrislyn Morse, Jonathan Morse, Laura Joy Simpson and Austin Lamb.Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Greater Humane Society at https://www.ghhs.org/donate/
