USAF Major (Ret.) Albert Randall Boehm, 75, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on July 26, 2017. Born in 1942 in Baltimore, MD, "Randy" spent an idyllic youth on Kent Island, MD, in the Chesapeake Bay, spending most of his free time out on the water. A research climatologist, he earned his BS and MS in meteorology from Penn State University, in 1966, and 1976 respectively. He served 25 years in the US Air Force, with stations at Biloxi (Mississippi), Langley AFB (Virginia), Dover AFB (Delaware), Tachikawa AFB (Japan), Scott AFB (Illinois), and Hanscom AFB (Massachusetts). After his retirement, Albert worked at the Air Force Geophysics Laboratory at Hanscom AFB and at Nichols Research in Huntsville, Alabama. He was also very active in the American Meteorological Society.Albert was devoted to Jesus Christ and his Catholic faith, participating in charismatic Catholic prayer groups, Cursillo, and playing guitar as a music minister at Mass. He self-published his own music and works of fiction. He was married to his beloved wife Dorothy for 56 years, whom he met at a Christmas ball in 1960 in Salisbury, MD. They loved to travel the world together. They hosted several exchange students over the years from Japan, France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.
