Henry Underwood Stephens, 87, of Elkmont, Al. passed away July 21, 2017. Henry was retired career military, businessman, farmer, and a former school board president and construction worker. He was a great man of faith, who loved and served his Savior well in numerous ways, as deacon, teacher, youth leader, church planter, mission worker and devoted prayer warrior. He loved his wife of 65 years. He adored and cared for his children, grands and greats. The example he set for those who knew him will last for generations. His impact on the Kingdom of God can only be known when he stands before His God and gives an account. Henry was a long time member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church, Athens, AL. Henry is survived by his wife, Eudora Stephens, his children, Linda S.(John) King, Bowling Green, KY; Jacqueline L. (Greg) Merrell, Toney, AL; Henry "Ted" (Sue) Stephens Athens, AL; Mark A. (Barbara) Stephens, Barnhart, MO; David N. (Penny) Stephens, Athens, AL. Grandchildren, Stephenie King, Ben (Mari-Anne) Rolin, Bradley (Liesa) Stephens, Leslie (Daniel) Boatman, Hannah (Greg) Mueller, Luke Stephens, Paul (Sara) Stephens, Clay Stephens, and 5 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday July 24, from 6pm-8pm at Sardis Springs Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday July 25, at 10am at Sardis Springs Baptist Church.
