Leonor Cepeda, 76, was surrounded by her daughters when she peacefully passed away on May 7, 2017. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Cepeda, Claudia Cepeda, and Sandra Cepeda; her sisters Lucia Castro, Esperanza Castro, and Olga Castro; and a number of nieces and nephews. Leonor was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her heart was filled with kindness, not only towards her family but also for those suffering and those in need. When she lived in Colombia, where she was born, she volunteered at one of the poorest hospitals in Bogota caring for mothers and babies born in extreme poverty. In addition, she sponsored many people with poor means to attend school and gain skills to better their lives. Here in Madison, she volunteered at Madison Hospital, and continued to show love to poor families, particularly immigrants with low income. She always made time to visit those who were sick and comforted them. Her compassion for others is her greatest legacy (Matthew 25:35-40) As much as she loved and helped those in need, nothing compares to the way she loved her three girls. Through illnesses, successes, failures, and just life in general, her love for them never failed. She always put them first! Leonor enjoyed listening to music, travelling and dancing. A good meal with loved ones was the highlight of her day! She was funny and was always ready for a good laugh. Leonor will be greatly missed. She was a blessing to many and she left an empty space in our hearts that can only be filled by God’s promise of eternal life. We will dance when we see her again in Heaven! Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 6:00PM Thursday May 11, 2017 at Legacy Chapel in Madison, Alabama. The memorial service will follow at 6:15PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.Follow this Link to View Leonor's Video:https://www.tributeslides.com/tributes/show/DPRGYCC84F3W52ZS
