Mary Nell Spears Horton

Mary Nell Spears Horton, 87, a resident of Huntsville, Alabama died peacefully at Huntsville Hospital on April 27, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was a retired nurse from Huntsville Hospital. She received her Nursing Degree from Charity Nursing School, New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a native of Oxford, Alabama. Mary Nell was preceded in death by her husband, John Arvil Horton. Survivors include her son, Pete (Myra Meeks) Horton of Gulf Shores, Alabama; daughter, Penny (Cecil) Moses of Mulberry, Tennessee; grandson, Ryan Jones of Birmingham, Alabama; granddaughters, Sara Jane (Jeff) Roe, Melissa Addie Horton and great grandson, John Cooper Roe, all of Huntsville, Alabama. Ms. Horton was a long-time member of Pineview Baptist Church, Huntsville, Alabama. Her service will be on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison with Rev. Billy Langford officiating. Burial will follow in the Huntsville Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 pm until service time.
