Gerald Couch, 75, of Madison, Alabama passed away August 16, 2016 at his home after a long illness. Gerald was born in Sikeston, Missouri in 1941 to Alva and Frances Couch.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962.  The highlight of his service was a year deployment in West Germany.  After service he studied Nuclear Medicine Technology at the University of Missouri.  The majority of his career was spent at Humana Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama and Parkway Hospital in Decatur, Alabama as the Department Head for Nuclear Medicine. Gerald was devoted to his wife, his children, and grandchildren. He loved gardening and working in his yard and making people laugh.  He was an active member of the Huntsville Parkinson’s Support group and enjoyed activities with the group. Gerald is survived by his devoted wife Doris Couch, son Scott Couch (Carrie), son Keith Couch (Wendy), daughter Alison Lansing (Matthew), and his ten grandchildren Riley, Hannah, Tucker, Georgia, Jonah, Jasper, Jesse, Wylie, Titus, and Caroline. He is preceded in death by his parents Alva and Frances Couch and his sister Emma Jean Whitehorn. Services will be Saturday August 20th, Visitation will be from 12:00pm-1:00pm with the Service following in the chapel at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Support Group of Huntsville, Wall Highway Baptist Church, or to Alacare Hospice and Home Health Fund of Alabama,   Parkinson’s Support Group of Huntsville P.O.
