James Hill Coleman, 84, of Madison passed away on September 12, 2016. Mr. Coleman was a native of Florence, Alabama, and graduated from Central High School in 1949. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War he graduated from the University of Alabama. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, Newton Hill Coleman and Ruth Brown Coleman. He is survived by his wife Betty Millican Coleman of Madison; sister, Martha Barton of Florence, AL; daughter, Carolyn Coleman Plank and granddaughter, Jessica Plank of Madison; son James H. Coleman, Jr. of Knoxville; son, Chris Hale and wife Felicia of Falkville and Grandsons Brice and Blaine Hale; son, Philip Hale, and wife Betsy Hale of Collierville, TN and grandchildren Tyler, Kaitlin, Emily, and twins, William and Benjamin. Mr. Coleman moved to Huntsville where he was employed at Marshall Space Flight Center and later for the Department of Defense. Funeral services will be held at the Asbury United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 15, 2016. Reverend Tommy Gray will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 am, one hour prior to the service with service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Huntsville Memory Gardens.
