Richard (Rich) T. Weaver, passed away on October 24, 2016, after a brief illness. He was born in Seattle, WA, and was very proud of his Northwest roots (Go, Hawks!). He was predeceased by his parents, Martha (Sumner) Weaver and William H. Weaver; sisters Rita and Fran; and brother Al. He is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Brian; daughter-in-law, Deanna; granddaughter, Rachel (the light of his life), brother, Bill and his wife, Ruth; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Extended family includes Pat’s siblings, Chuck, Deb, and Grady; their spouses and three nephews, 3 great nephews and one great niece. Rich retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9); retired from Boeing; joked that he couldn’t get it right, and continued to work as a consulting engineer to the International Space Station. The pinnacle of his career came when he was awarded the Silver Snoopy Award. Rich was all about family (Rachel) and work, especially if it included Donato’s Pizza on Tuesdays, and Hawaiian Delight Pie from Walton’s Restaurant in Elgin, AL. He leaves behind a wide circle of friends, from work, church, our old neighborhood in Madison, and our new family at Magnolia Trace. There will be a celebration of Rich’s life on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Madison United Methodist (MUMC), 127 Church Street, Madison, AL. Visitation will begin at 1:30 and the service at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Rich’s memory to the MUMC Regeneration Fund or the Alabama Kidney Foundation.
